Understand the choices that shape designed things.

United Design Journal

Editorial policy

United Design Journal aims to make design easier to understand without overstating what a detail can prove. We explain our reasoning, distinguish fact from interpretation and welcome corrections.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against suitable available sources and review names, dates and technical terms before publication. When a claim is uncertain or interpretations differ, we say so rather than imply that one reading is settled. Our articles are explanatory, not professional design, building or accessibility advice.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from partnership arrangements. Any paid, gifted or partner-supported material is clearly labelled near the relevant content. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and editorial conclusions are not offered for sale.

Corrections

If you find an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review credible correction requests and amend material when needed; significant changes are noted so readers can understand what changed.

Images and illustrations

Images are selected to support the subject and are not a substitute for evidence. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where relevant, that use is identified in the accompanying caption or credit.
